The beginning process
In a world that is all about fast and cheap mass production, CHNAOU makes a difference: no child labor, no human rights violations, no mass production and no garments that you can throw away after only two wearings. CHNAOU is about more than looking fashionable. CHNAOU stands for:
QUALITATIVE FUELS - The fabrics for the clothing are chosen with great care. The fabrics used do not shine through and do not stick to the body, they are fabrics that sit and stay nice. In this way you can enjoy your garment longer and together we avoid waste.
LIMITED EDITION CLOTHING - If you have a design by CHNAOU hanging in your closet, you own a unique garment; only one or two of each garment are made. All garments are conceived, designed and made with care and attention by me.
MINIMALISTIC STYLE - Rest is what we need today in this hectic society where we can lose ourselves. To find our self again, we need to go back to the essence. Minimizing your environment, food, technology, as well as clothing! By minimizing, you increase the quality of your life and focus on what is really important.
TIMELESS DESIGN - The beautiful quality is not the only reason the garments last so long; the clothes are not designed based on the latest fashions, but on what is always beautiful. CHNAOU has no set clothing style, but all designs contribute to dressing the self-conscious person in a beautiful, yet modest way.
SUSTAINABLE PRODUCTION - CHNAOU's clothing is all produced by me in the heart of Amsterdam. In doing so, the environment is affected as little as possible. The fabrics used do not currently have an organic origin, but the goal is to change this in the future.
HANDMADE CL OTHING - All garments are handmade by me. I pay a lot of attention to this: making just one garment takes a lot of days. If I am dissatisfied with something during the fitting, I adjust the garment immediately. I do this until I am 100% satisfied with the end result.
